About
I’m Hannah Curry (formerly Hannah Wood), a Brand & Graphic Designer passionate about creating thoughtful, strategic designs and content that connect businesses with their audiences. I believe great design goes beyond aesthetics - it tells a story, solves problems, and brings a brand’s vision to life.
Throughout my career, I’ve helped organizations develop and strengthen their brands through visual identities, brand standards, marketing campaigns, copywriting, digital experiences, and event marketing. I especially enjoy the planning and execution that goes into bringing creative ideas to life, from developing a campaign or event concept to creating the promotional materials, coordinating details, and helping execute the final experience. Whether planning an event, launching a new initiative, or building a brand, I enjoy bringing creative strategy and organization together to create meaningful experiences.
From rebrands and creative strategy to print and digital design, social media, and event planning, I enjoy transforming ideas into cohesive, engaging designs and content that support business goals. I’m passionate about both the creative and strategic sides of the process and love seeing an idea move from the planning stage to something people can experience and enjoy.
I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art & Graphic Design and a minor in Communications Media. Growing up in the small town of Shelocta, Pennsylvania, my passion for art began by watching my great-grandmother create detailed colored pencil drawings. Her creativity inspired my own journey as a designer and artist.
I’m a creative problem solver who enjoys collaboration, planning, learning, and finding thoughtful solutions to new challenges. Whether building a brand from the ground up, refining an existing identity, planning an event, or bringing a new initiative to life, I’m passionate about creating work that is both purposeful and impactful.
Outside of design, you can find me painting, crafting, enjoying a chai tea latte curled up with a good book, or exploring new adventures at theme parks. I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of nature, especially the beach, palm trees, and the peaceful inspiration they bring. The colors, textures, and details found in the world around me often influence my artwork and creative process. I’m inspired by creativity, storytelling, thoughtful planning, and the opportunity to bring joy to others through my work.

Volunteer Work & Events
I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer in many different ways throughout my educational and professional journey. Giving back has always been important to me, and I enjoy using my time, creativity, and skills to make a positive impact and bring a little more joy to others’ lives.

The IUP Alumni Association created the Oak Notes Project to give alumni an opportunity to welcome and encourage incoming students. Through the project, alumni send personalized notes to new students on IUP postcards. Since graduating from IUP, I have continued participating by welcoming incoming Fine Arts students and helping them feel connected to the university from the very beginning.

Painting has always been one of my favorite creative outlets, and face painting gives me the opportunity to combine that passion with making people smile. For more than four years, I have volunteered as a face painter at church events, local festivals, and community gatherings. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement and joy on a child’s face when they see their finished design.

The church I grew up attending provided many opportunities to give back, and volunteering in the café on Sundays and in the kitchen during the annual summer conference was especially meaningful to me. These experiences allowed me to serve my church community while spending quality time with my grandparents and other people I looked up to. Although I no longer attend this church, these volunteer experiences remain an important part of my personal journey and connection to my community.

Serving as a Vacation Bible School teacher at the church I grew up attending was one of my most tiring yet rewarding volunteer experiences. I loved helping children learn, encouraging their creativity, and creating a welcoming space where they could have fun and build friendships. While I no longer volunteer there, the experience taught me the value of patience, leadership, and creating positive experiences for others.

As a student, I attended numerous networking events hosted with IUP’s Board of Directors, university president, and alumni. Now, as an alum, I have had the opportunity to return to these events from the other side. It has been incredibly rewarding to share my own experiences and career journey with current students. I once looked forward to hearing the inspiring stories of alumni, and now I have the opportunity to be the one sharing those stories.
